Recently, Bing has announced its newly updated feature in social search. And Facebook has been co-marketing with Bing in this new adventure.
Unlike traditional search results, Bing's new layout includes not just organic results and paid results, but also a column of social results that are highly connected with the user's social media account. Besides seeing the traditional results, now users have the chance to link their SM account to Bing and see what their contacts have to say about the things they are searching for. It does not only provide a more relative more real answer to the user's searches, but also opens up a whole new market for advertisers and SM users.

It is pretty obvious that advertisers will try to make use of their SM pages even better through Bing's social search results. More time and content devoted to their pages are foreseeable as they want to, say, be "liked" on their public page in Facebook to reach more audience in the social search column.
But, I am thinking if it is a great opportunity for any SM user to increase their account value? If a user's account has many credible mentions of businesses and services s/he has used, and happen to have quite a big number of friends, would that be a chance to make this account financially profitable while being friendly and helpful? It is not new that Google Ads has been giving web users the chance to make money by embedding ads in their own sites; is it possible that someday Bing will do similar stuff with SM users? It must be very interesting when it becomes true.
I'll keep my eyes open and see how it goes.
